After an unfortunate turn of events during their previous outing which was called off without a ball being bowled. This leaves Virat and co with a monumental task of winning 7 games out of their remaining fixtures in order to qualify for the playoffs. This was previously achieved only by CSK in the year 2010, they to were plummetting to the bottom of the table in the initial stages of the tournament.
