Veteran Indian tennis star and legend Leander Paes could be closing in on another doubles title in his illustrious career after he stormed to an easy win in Bordeaux on Wednesday. Paes and his American team-mate Scott Lipsky scored a comfortable straight sets victory over Laurent Lokoli and Maxime Janvier in the quarter-final round of Bordeaux Challenger tennis tournament.

The pair of the Indian and the American dispatched their French counterparts by 6-4 6-4. The second seeded duo will face the all-Indian combination of Purav Raja and Divij Sharan in the semi-final of the competition tomorrow.

Raja and Sharan were able to fend off an Australian challenge in the form of Alex Bolt and Thanasi Kokkinakis 6-2 6-7(4) 10-6 in a tightly contest match-up to advance to the final four of the tournament.

The Indo-American tandem opened their tournament with a 6-2 7-5 win over the French duo of Mathias Bourgue and Gregoire Barrere in the first round while their opponents in the semi-finals and third seeded, Raja and Sharan defeated another French pair of Maxime Hamou and Romain Jouan.

The winner of the clash between the Indo-American team and the all-Indian team will advance to face either the team of Jonanthan Erlich and Phillip Oswald or the team of Santiago Gonzalez and Artem Sitak.

The Greek and the Israeli duo will take on the Kiwi and the Mexican duo in their semi-final battle on Thursday 18th May. The winners of the those two bouts would face each other in the final of BNP Paribas Bordeaux Primrose Bordeaux at the Villa Primrose in Bordeaux, France.
