Bangladesh are just two steps away from being crowned as Champions of the ICC CT 2017.

Former Indian all-rounder Ajit Agarkar, who is currently associated with ESPN to cover the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2017, said that Bangladesh should be proud of the fact that they are just two steps away from being Champion as Champions in the Mini World Cup tournament.

Bangladesh have managed to qualify for the semi-finals after defeating heavyweights such as Australia and New Zealand in the ICC CT 2017, now all set to face India in semis on Thursday.  Agarkar believes that Bangladesh are the well-deserving side to play the semi-finals of the prestigious tournament.

According to the reports of bdcrictime, Ajit Agarkar stated, “Bangladesh were successful and they are playing the semifinal as a deserving team. They are two steps away from being Champion. They had to win against New Zealand and they did that. Credits should be given to them.”

Former all-rounder also praised Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah, who were stitched a monumental partnership that helped Bangladesh to book their berth in the semi-finals.

Agarkar further added, “They couldn’t play well in the first two matches but they were excellent in the last match when it was must needed. They lost 4 wickets within 33 runs and it was not an easy task to win from that situation. Their big guns, Mahmudullah and Shakib shined in a perfect time.”

Shakib Al Hasan, who had limited opportunities in IPL and gave minimal contribution in the first two games, but he made an amazing come back in the CT tournament and that shows why he is the best all-rounder in the world.

Ajit Agarkar concluded, “Shakib was poor throughout the tournament before that match but he came back in form with that match. Mahmudullah has been impressing from 2015 World Cup. Australia had the chance but they failed.”
