Juan Mata took to Twitter to welcome Lukaku to Manchester United and express his surprise at the size of Lukaku’s feet.

He was seen sitting in a dressing room, wearing what looked like Lukaku’s boots. In a tweet, he wrote: “Welcome Romelu Lukaku aka biggest boots EVER.”

Lukaku took the joke in his stride, replying with a laughing and crying emoji.

Lukaku recently in a MUTV interviews explained the role his friend Paul Pogba played in bringing him to Old Trafford. “It has been a big role,” Lukaku told MUTV.

“Of course he is one of my best friends and he is my neighbour as well.We are always together on a daily basis so he would explain to me how things were going. Last season when he signed for United, to have witnessed that, it really triggered something in my brain and I knew that if one day I had the chance to sign then I would not say no. You just know and realise how big the club is, and the hunger it has to win trophies.” He said.
