695 runs at an average of 43 from 32ODI’s Kedar Jadhav is India’s number 6 in Virat Kohli’s Team India. A three dimensional player , Jadhav hasn’t helped his cause so far in the three ODI’s that he has played do far against Australia.

He scored a well accomplished 40 at Chennai, but in the next two ODI’s at Kolkata and Indore he failed. He scored 24 and 2 respectively and with the India team management looking forward to the 2019 World Cup, performances like these wouldn’t help his cause of making the team.

Let’s look at the available options who can replace Kedar Jadhav at number 6.

1 )  Rishabh Pant :

Pant is one of the younger starts in Indian cricket coming up through the ranks. A good domestic season followed by U19 experience, he moved through the ranks and finally made his India debut recently.

Playing for the Delhi Daredevils in the IPL he has made some noticeable performance. That he is a middle order batsmen and that he is a left hander as well makes him the best option to replace Jadhav in the middle order. With Hardik Pandya taking over the reins from MS Dhoni and finishing matches for India, Pant’s presence in the middle order will give the team more solidity.
