Former England cricketer, Kevin Pietersen joined the commentary team of Channel 9 for the Ashes 2017 which started on Thursday with the first Test at The Gabba in Brisbane. More than the key points of the game, KP’s ‘dashing’ choice of footwear was the talk of Twitter during day one of the Brisbane Ashes test.
Pietersen’s choice of shoes didn’t go well with the Twitterati. He was wearing a pair of light tan shoes on his formal attire, and that attracted the trolls.

Many, including cricketers, took to Twitter to poke fun at the former England batsman but Pietersen tried to retaliate.
New Zealand ‘s Jimmy Neesham even organized a poll for his Twitter followers on whether Pietersen had made a worse start to an Ashes series than England pacer Steve Harmison, who is remembered for his widest of wide delivery in Brisbane in 2006.

But the trolling didn’t stop despite KP trying to make a comeback. On day two he tweeted a photo of himself, still wearing the same shoes with a caption targeted at the trolls.
He wrote: “For all you fashion gurus out there hammering my shoes…! The more you pipe up, the more I’ll wear ‘em. Even some blue socks for you today! 😘”

Pietersen would have thought, he might have the last laugh when his Tweet. But you know, social media is merciless. He had to face brutal trolling thereafter.
