Ram Slam T20 Challenge, the high octane tournament of South Africa, took center-stage at the moment in the country after the inaugural edition of the T20 Global League postponed, and the Proteas crowd gets the chance of enjoying some boundaries smashed by their favorite stars ahead of the mega event.
South African star batsman AB de Villiers, who was the hero of yesterday’s encounter, stole the show by smashing a 19-ball half century in the third match of the T20 tournament and led the Titans to victory by 8 wickets through DLS Method against the Highveld Lions on Sunday at SuperSports Park at Centurion.
In the rain-curtailed encounter of 15 overs, the Lions opted to bat first after winning the toss and posted a score of 127 which meant the Titans had to chase 135 in just 15 over to win the match. Then, De Villiers (50 off 19 balls, hits five sixes) and Albie Morkel came and rescued Titans by smashing nine sixes in an unbeaten partnership of 85 off 31 balls to seal the 8-wicket victory for their team.
Although, Kagiso Rabada was another attraction of the day who picked up three wickets as well as contributed with the bat with his unbeaten 16-ball 41, but did not prevent his team from facing defeat at the hands of Titans in the T20 tournament.
