The Dubai World Superseries Finals 2017 is taking place currently and PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth are representing the Indian Women’s and Men’s side respectively.
PV Sindhu successfully defeated China’s He Bingjiao in 2 out of the 3 rounds in Women’s singles category, while in Men’s singles Kidambi Srikanth faced a straight defeat by World No.1 Viktor Axelsen from Denmark.
Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu made a positive start in the opener match of the $1 million Dubai Super Series Finals. The 22-year-old Sindhu’s and her opponent World No. 9 He Bingjiao had a head to head encounter as the Indian thrashed the left-handed Chinese 21-11, 16-21, 21-18 in an hour-long match.
Sindhu has played Bingjiao two time in this year and yesterday, she presented a balanced game to deliver a breakthrough in the opening match.
On contrary, World No. 4 Srikanth suffered a straight game loss as he suffered a 13-21, 17-21 game loss to World No.1 Viktor Axelsen. Srikanth tried to produce a better fight but failed to be consistent as Axelsen dominated the match throughout with his better placement and good technique.
Sindhu will now face Japan’s Sayaka Sato and Srikanth will take on Chinese Taipei’s Chou Tien Chen today.
