India’s seasoned off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has castigated people who have been commenting and trolling him on the basis of his religion and caste.

Ashwin conveyed the message through his official Twitter account, asking people to not spread hatred with remarks involving racism. In fact, the 31-year-old also made it clear that he will not tolerate such behaviour from anyone and will do his bit to take such folks to task.

“Public figures will endure hatred on social media, and there will be ppl who won’t like me and criticise me, but one thing I won’t tolerate anymore is hatred based on religion and caste. That’s also called racism and I take a stand to take such ppl to task. Thanks,” Ashwin wrote on his Twitter page.

It is not the first time that Ashwin has taken a stand on issues related to racial discrimination. In August 2017, the offie had come out in support of his fellow Tamil Nadu cricketer Abhinav Mukund, who had posted a long message on Twitter urging people to not hurl abuses just because someone’s skin colour is not fair.
