So, finally, the Umpire Decision Review System has been introduced in the Indian Premier League with the 11th season. The good news is, UDRS will be used in the 11th season. No more unfair dismissals, now team would have one chance in their inning to use UDRS to review umpire’s decision.
And believe us, this rule can be a game changer. This rule can change the fate of a franchise in critical situations.
Rules of UDRS
For those who don’t know, in the Umpire Decision Review System, each team will get a review in one inning to forward the on-field umpire’s decision to the third umpire. The third umpire will then use techniques like Ball Tracking and Ultra Edge to make sound decisions.
