India A is touring England and recently played in an unofficial Test against England Lions at the County Ground, New Road, Worcester. England Lions routed the India A side by 253 runs.
India A scored a paltry 197 and 167 in reply to England Lions’ 423 and 194/5d. India A had in its armor India vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane and Karun Nair, who are both included in the squad for the Indian team for the first three matches of the England Test series.
Despite the loss, there was good news for India A side as its keeper Rishabh Pant was selected in the India senior team as well, as a backup keeper for Dinesh Karthik.
India A was coached by former India captain Rahul Dravid and the duo of Karun Nair and Ajinkya Rahane both showed their appreciation for his contributions. Rahane and Karun, both have played with Rahul Dravid for the Rajasthan Royals team in the IPL and Rahane used to open the innings with Dravid.
Karun wrote on Twitter, “A Great coach is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself. Thank you one and all for all the wishes and love and had an amazing time preparing for the series ahead. #letsmakethiscount”
